Hannah Knows Best! is a practical, must-read guide for moms who are serious about bringing up children to know and love God. How was Samuel prepared for this important role? Hannah raised him to be set apart, and completely different from the surrounding culture. Where did Hannah get her wisdom? From God's Word! This book contains practical parenting insights gleaned from the life of Hannah, the mother who raised Israel's greatest pre-Messianic judge, prophet, and priest. 

About the Author

Brenda McClure

Brenda McClure has been married to Michael for over twenty-three years. They have seven children, and minister at Calvary Chapel San Jose. Brenda teaches and serves at the church's school, Calvary Christian Academy, as well as in the women's ministry, Virtuous Women. Together, Michael and Brenda desire to see parents turn their hearts toward God, investing in their marriage and their children, so this world might be transformed for God's glory.

Why I wrote it...

In the fall of 2017, I was humbled and honored to share little bits of wisdom on parenting with a group of pastors’ wives. My personal testimony is full of many lessons God has shown me throughout my years of teaching, ministering to families, and raising seven children. These truths are discovered through the example of Hannah and her son, Samuel, in the Bible. Little did I realize that those pieces of wisdom, put together, could become very transformative!

After listening to my workshop, my sweet mother-in-law, Jean, encouraged me to write down all that God had shown me over the years—thinking that practical insights might encourage, inspire, and help other moms raise their children according to God’s pattern of parenting. Unsure about the timing with so many little ones at home, I took the matter to prayer. God, then, gave me a heavy burden for moms, who are raising children in today’s culture. With an outline in hand and a burning passion within my heart, God gave me the grace to write Hannah Knows Best: Pearls of Wisdom for Moms Who Are Serious about Raising Children Who Love God.

This book will take you on the journey that the Lord has brought me through, as I sought to raise children for His glory, as well as the lessons I learned regarding parenting along the way.
